update!

Well, exciting days here for us! I just got back from visiting my kids in Bloomington! Oh, how I miss Amy and the students. I'm not joking--I dont know why it is so hard for me to leave them. But, alas, they are doing well and I am still impressed with their talents and their sweet spirits. Some of them truly have hearts that are set on fire for Christ and that is so encouraging for me to see in a high school. I am praying so hard that they can bear fruit among their peers!

As for me, I am substitute teaching in the public schools around Watertown. It is a neat experience to say the least. I enjoy it because every day is different. I have done everything from early childhood to high school, from special ed to phys ed. I can honestly say that I am certain that the Lord did NOT lead me into early childhood for a reason! wow. But everything else has been going really great! I actually enjoy the kids, and am learning alot too. Then, big news for the Fall...(trumpet fanfare) I got a full time teaching offer for Maranatha's academy! I will be teaching speech, drama, and girls Bible. I'll also be directing their plays and coaching the volleyball team--and, teaching one class of speech fundamentals in the college! Crazy, eh? But God put together this awesome package for me with pretty much everything that I love doing! I'm extremely excited...and a little sad to know I won't be in Bloomington, but Amy and I already decided that we are "sister drama departments" and so we'll make it a point to see each other's productions!!!

back in watertown!

So, I have finished my student teaching and am now back in good old Watertown! Leaving Bloomington was one of the hardest moves for me...and to tell you the truth, I still struggle with being away from Amy and the kids at Calvary! I loved those kids soo soo much :) But I know the Lord will continue to work there even though I am not around to see it!

Anyways, I am now working as a supervisor in the Admissions office at Maranatha and hopefully I will start substitute teaching around here soon! Its a long process to get my teaching certificate, but some districts will let me start subbing while my application is in process. So, now I have go to the individual districts and apply.

Meanwhile...its nice to be back in Watertown with my old friends and it helps that I'm closer to Nic :) Sheila is up here as well--going to school at MBBC! Never thought I would see that happen! But, praise God, she's here :) Its so nice to be in the same town as her again :)

need job!

Well, I was a little discouraged when they told me I may not be getting paid for coaching volleyball here...I'm really pressed for cash these days and neither one of my interviews called me back with job offers. Its not even like I need tons of money either...just enough to pay for gas to get to and from school...and my cell bill. But $0 plus $0 still equals a big fat $0 !!! Its just been a little discouraging lately~! I was kinda expecting this though because my devotions the past couple days have been centering on contentment in difficult circumstances...and trusting the Lord to carry me through. Today was a reminder that, in context, Phillipians 4:13 means that I can endure with contentment any circumstance brought my way "through Christ who gives me strenth." I find its hard to be content sometimes when I already had my mind made up on a certain result, and then it doesnt' happen. You know? But that is always best because it forces me to trust in God's planning and leading instead of my own ingenius plans! Its just a matter of faith, resting, and trusting. Lessons I am daily learning~!

Besides my financial issues, however, student teaching is going really well! My crazy junior high students today were OUT OF CONTROL! Wow, I kept saying things like...hmmmm, maybe we should pay attention to what we are learning instead of raising our hands to tell random stories in class, eh??? Then, yesterday, oh my, the saddest thing happened in front of my junior high class, but I feel bad posting it on the internet...you'll have to call to find out :) (this is a real story, not just a devious ploy to get friends to call me during my stay in bloomington).

why a new blog?

Well, I have much to say about camp and what God brought me through in order to expose, rebuke, and correct...but first I must get this new blog underway because my old one is out of commission due to the good intentions of friends who knew my password and accidently corrupted everything I knew and love concerning my previous blog. All is well, however because I will just recreate a blog for all to visit and enjoy!
